Welcome to Kinbrook Island Provincial Park located on Lake Newell. Lake Newell is one of southern Alberta largest and warmest man-made lakes. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, sailing, fishing, boating, and swimming. An interpretive trail takes you through the nearby wetlands and introduces you to the area's many bird species

Advisories & Closures
- Permitted activities may vary within a park. Please confirm details with park staff.
- Birding: Species include American white pelican, ring-billed gull, California gull, double-crested cormorant, Caspian tern, eared grebe, great blue heron & common tern. Marsh areas offer habitat for ducks, coots, rails, bitterns & geese.
- Power boating: Power vessels are subject to a 12 km/h speed limit in the posted swimming area.
- All Watercraft: In 2018, the Eastern Irrigation District (EID) initiated an Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program for all watercraft (including paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, and inflatable zodiacs). All watercraft owners wishing to access EID reservoirs, including Lake Newell Reservoir, must follow approved prevention procedures and register their watercraft to receive an EID AIS Program sticker from EID staff prior to launching. As part of the program, trailered watercraft must only be launched from approved boat launches and watercraft owners must check-in with EID staff on site or contact the EID prior to launching. If EID staff are not present watercraft owners must visit Rolling Hills Reservoir Campground, Lake Newell Resort Marina, or Crawling Valley Campground to register their watercraft before launching.
